Another worthy charity receives Usborne Books

28th May 2018

One of the most important influences for success in life is the availability of books in the hands of children from birth on. This spring, we are making donations across the country to ensure all children have access to Usborne Books.

I donated my Charity box to Ronald McDonald House Ottawa. The Ronald McDonald House Charity is an amazing Charity that has a number of Houses across Canada located close to a Children's Hospital. These Houses are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child. Families who have little ones needing treatments due to injury or serious illness are welcome to stay.

The home as a number of shared common rooms families can enjoy, a Library is one of them and was needing an update. The books we donated have been added to replace some much-loved books that families will share for years to come. I also donated an additional 25 books which will be kept as gifts for children who spend their birthdays, Christmas at the home or simply need a pick me up.

My family spent time at a Ronald Mcdonald House when I was very young and I have nothing but special memories from it. I wanted to give back as I am now a parent and couldn't image what it would be like to have one of my daughters sick. It warms my heart knowing I was able to provide a couple of great memories to parents as they snuggle on the couch and fall into an amazing adventure of Usborne books.
